So, is your Ford F-250 or F-150 truck capable of towing an RV or trailer around Columbia? The average weight of an RV stands around 10,000+ pounds, and that’s not counting payload, which brings the weight of your average RV up another 1,500+ pounds or so. Trailers are much lighter than RVs. If you’re looking to tow your trailer to the Lake of the Ozarks, the general ballpark estimate is around 5,200—but this figure ranges from as low as 1,000 pounds and up to 9,000 pounds.
